We’re excited to announce for 2025 we will be offering a new inflatable kayak adventure trip on the Pacuare River. We’re the only company offering this unique experience, so you’ll be among the first to paddle this beautiful river in lightweight inflatables. Please read below to learn more and how to sign up for it.
Inflatable kayaks
Normally, on our Two Day Pacuare or 3-Day Raft + Zip, we raft into Rio Vista Lodge on paddle boats, and then after spending the night, raft out through the Pacuare Gorge. This new trip will allow you to paddle an inflatable kayak to our lodge alongside our rafts on day one. Then, on the second part of the Pacuare, we’ll raft out in the paddleboats as normal. The type of IKs we are using are called pack rafts, which are small, maneuverable inflatables that are perfect for the first day of the Pacuare when the flows are right. What are the right flows? During periods of low water that are more common during the dry season.
What’s a pack raft? A pack raft is a lightweight inflatable kayak that’s easy to transport. They’re maneuverable, and their size means that even small Class II rapids become exciting.
Trip itinerary
The trip itinerary is the same as our 3-Day Raft + Zip or Two Day Pacuare, however, we swap out the rafting on day one with packrafts.
- Day 1: Inflatable kayak and raft into the lodge on Class II and III rapids.
- Day 2: Zipline, Tarzan Swing, and waterfall hike
- Day 3: Hop into the paddleboats and raft through the Pacuare Gorge
The warm water of the Pacuare and mellower rapids on the first day of the trip make it the perfect opportunity for a pack rafting adventure, even for those who have never been in one before.
Free but not for long
The best part? This add-on adventure is 100% free for anyone who books by December 31, 2024 for any future date. There is no extra cost to our regular 3-Day or Two Day Pacuare.
