lodging that’s 100 feet up
Caribbean paradise at our Kapu Tree House
With construction completed in 2020, The Kapu Tree House is a true Caribbean paradise just a minute from Punta Uva, perhaps the most famous beach in Costa Rica. Located conveniently on the same road as the finishing point for our Pacuare river trips, The Beach Tree House is best suited for those finishing one of our Pacuare river rafting experiences.
At a glance
The Kapu Tree House is $250 / night and sleeps up to four people
There is one queen bed and a couch
It is approximately the size of a studio apartment
A true tree house
Some “tree houses” are really just homes on stilts. Others are lofted uncomfortable tree forts twenty feet off the ground. Ours is neither. This is a studio that’s built 100 feet up in a tree. There’s a bathroom with a hot shower, and even a rappelling option to get down quickly – or use the hanging bridge to easily walk to the ground.

The Kapu Tree House is one minute from the beach
Close to town, yet completely private
We’re right at Punta Uva, our beautiful local beach. The town of Puerto Viejo is just ten minutes away and nice restaurants are even closer, just 5 to 7 minutes (depending on if you rappel or use the hanging bridge to get to the ground).
- Our Kapu Tree House is only available as an add-on reservation to our 3-Day Adventure or 2-Day Pacuare river trips. We recommend booking the tree house for after these experiences.
- While there is no WiFi at the Kapu Tree House, there is plenty of cell phone coverage.
- The swinging bridge provides “non-scary” access to the Beach Tree House, however, we still suggest those afraid of heights to not book this accommodation.
